Agentic AI for game studios: iXie Launches Game Lifter to Transform Game Production

The gaming industry is entering a new phase of AI-driven production. Game studios are under growing pressure to deliver more content, faster updates, and highly responsive live experiences.

At the same time, development teams face increasing workloads and tighter resources. iXie Gaming, the gaming division of AI services company Indium, believes agentic AI can help close that gap.

The company has launched Game Lifter, an agentic AI platform designed to increase the production capacity of game studios while keeping human teams firmly in control.

Game Lifter launches with dedicated Quality Assurance (QA) and LiveOps capabilities. iXie says Game Development and Art agents will follow within the next four to six months.

The production challenge facing modern game studios

Game development has evolved considerably. Studios no longer simply build a game, launch it, and move to the next project.

Many modern games operate as living products. They receive frequent builds, seasonal content, live events, updates, offers, and gameplay changes.

That creates a continuous production cycle.

Every build needs validation. Every update needs testing. Live events must be planned and monitored. Player behaviour needs to be analysed. Support issues need to be investigated and connected to their underlying causes.

Much of this work remains heavily dependent on human teams.

The resulting pressure is particularly significant as studios operate with fewer people. According to the release, GDC’s 2026 survey found that 28% of developers had lost their jobs during the previous two years.

“Studios aren’t asking ‘how do we test faster?’ They’re asking, ‘how does a team of 40 operate at the cadence of a team of 90?’” said Ram Sukumar, CEO, Indium.

According to Sukumar, Game Lifter is designed to help existing teams validate more builds, deliver live events on schedule, and allow senior professionals to focus on higher-value work.

Game Lifter is positioned as more than a conventional automation platform.

Its agentic architecture is designed to allow AI agents to perform specific production tasks while operating within a studio’s existing environment.

The platform initially focuses on two critical areas: QA and LiveOps.

AI-powered QA across the testing lifecycle

The QA layer is designed to cover multiple stages of the testing process.

Agents can author test cases using design documents and code differences. They can also generate evidence-backed defect reports and analyse defect taxonomies and hotspots.

Other capabilities include cross-device visual regression testing and network traffic inspection.

One of the more significant features is self-healing automation. The objective is to allow automated testing workflows to survive content updates rather than requiring teams to rebuild automation after every change.

Game Lifter also provides coverage and confidence scoring for individual gameplay systems.

This could give QA teams a more structured view of what has been tested, where risks remain, and how confident they can be in the results.

LiveOps automation for continuously evolving games

The LiveOps layer targets another major area of modern game production.

Agents can map telemetry lineage, detect event fatigue, and cluster support tickets according to root causes.

The system can also tailor events and offers based on player behaviour.

For studios running games continuously, these capabilities could help teams respond to player behaviour without relying entirely on manual analysis.

LiveOps has become increasingly important as publishers compete for engagement and retention long after a game’s initial launch. AI-driven analysis can potentially reduce the operational burden while enabling teams to make decisions faster.

What comes next for Game Lifter

The initial release is only the first phase of iXie‘s roadmap.

Game Development and Art agents are expected within four to six months.

The planned development capabilities include codebase reading and agent-guided builds. Asset dependency mapping is also part of the roadmap.

The platform is also expected to use agents to predict user behaviour and churn in real time.

This points toward a broader vision for Agentic AI for game studios, where AI agents could eventually support multiple parts of the production lifecycle rather than functioning as isolated automation tools.

The potential impact is significant.

Game Lifter is designed to run inside a studio’s own cloud or Virtual Private Cloud (VPC). It can also operate in air-gapped environments.

The company says source code does not leave the studio’s security perimeter.

Access is read-only when the platform connects to an environment. Agents do not commit directly to repositories. Nothing is published to a live environment without human approval.

iXie also says classification accuracy is validated against human-labelled datasets. Generated automation undergoes compilation checks, while outputs carry confidence scores that can be traced back to the relevant file.

The approach reflects a human-in-the-loop model rather than completely autonomous software development.

That distinction could become increasingly important as game companies evaluate how much control they are willing to give AI systems operating around production code and live services.

iXie’s global gaming footprint

iXie Gaming brings substantial experience to the platform.

The company describes itself as the AI-ready gaming division of Indium and a global provider of gaming services. It has more than 700 associates and says it has shipped more than 550 titles across genres and platforms.

Its services cover QA, art, development, and LiveOps.

Game Lifter is initially being taken to studios that iXie already works with across the United States, South Korea, Japan, and Europe.

Karthik Bala, Chief Business Officer, iXie Gaming, said the company has seen internal benchmarks of up to 70% faster QA and 45% LiveOps automation.

“These are not theoretical productivity targets,” Bala’s comments suggest. The platform has been shaped by iXie’s experience working alongside game development teams and dealing with the operational pressure of frequent releases and certification deadlines.

From AI assistance to an AI production layer

The launch of Game Lifter highlights a broader shift in enterprise AI.

Traditional automation typically focuses on predefined workflows. Generative AI expanded the scope by enabling systems to create and analyse content. Agentic AI takes the concept further by allowing specialised systems to reason through tasks, use tools, and operate across multi-step workflows.

For game studios, that evolution could be particularly relevant.

Game production combines software engineering, testing, art, analytics, player engagement, and operational management. These functions generate enormous amounts of structured and unstructured information.

An agentic production layer could potentially connect these processes and reduce the manual effort required to move information from one stage to another.

That is ultimately the proposition behind Game Lifter.

Rather than replacing game developers, testers, artists, or LiveOps professionals, iXie is positioning the platform as a way to increase what existing teams can accomplish.
