Aeron Systems has raised ₹45 crore in a Pre-Series B funding round led jointly by Riverwalk Holdings and MGF-Kavachh, as the Pune-based deep-tech company looks to expand manufacturing, accelerate product development and strengthen its international presence through GPS-Denied Navigation Technology.

The investment comes as demand grows for technologies that can maintain navigation, sensing and situational awareness when conventional satellite-navigation systems become unreliable or unavailable. For defence platforms operating in contested environments, this capability is becoming increasingly important.

For Aeron Systems, the new capital is expected to support its expansion across inertial navigation, aerospace sensing, avionics, weather monitoring and resilient Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) technologies.

Funding to accelerate manufacturing and global expansion

Aeron said the ₹45 crore investment will help expand its manufacturing capabilities and accelerate research and development. The company also plans to address growing customer demand and expand into international markets.

The round was jointly led by Riverwalk Holdings and MGF-Kavachh (MountTech Growth Fund).

The investment highlights growing investor interest in Indian companies developing indigenous technologies for aerospace, defence and other strategic industries.

Aeron’s Co-Founder and CEO, Ashvani Shukla, said the funding would help the company enter its next phase of growth.

He also highlighted the company’s ambition to build globally competitive technologies from India while contributing to the country’s technological self-reliance.

Why GPS-denied navigation technology is becoming critical

Satellite navigation has become fundamental to modern aircraft, vehicles, ships and autonomous systems. However, systems that depend heavily on satellite signals face growing risks from jamming, spoofing and other forms of electronic warfare.

This is creating demand for navigation technologies that can operate without continuously relying on external satellite signals.

Aeron has developed inertial navigation systems designed to provide positioning and navigation capabilities in such environments. Its broader portfolio also includes resilient PNT technologies.

Its offerings include inertial navigation systems, air data computers, weather and environmental sensing solutions, flight-test instrumentation, avionics and resilient PNT technologies.

The company says its products support aircraft, helicopters, unmanned platforms, missiles, armoured vehicles and naval platforms.

Aeron also operates in environmental monitoring and renewable energy. Its capabilities include weather monitoring systems that can provide data for applications such as solar-energy infrastructure.

According to the company, it has deployed more than 10,000 inertial systems and 2,500-plus weather stations globally.

That installed base provides Aeron with an important foundation as it seeks to expand its international business.

Defence customers provide a strategic technology foundation

Aeron says its technologies are used by several major Indian defence and aerospace organisations, including Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), the Indian Army and the Indian Navy.

The company positions these relationships as evidence of its ability to develop and deploy high-reliability systems for demanding applications.

Its technology focus also aligns with India’s broader effort to strengthen domestic capabilities across critical defence and aerospace supply chains.

Riverwalk Holdings highlighted two major technology trends behind its investment thesis.

The first is resilient navigation for environments affected by GPS denial, spoofing and jamming. The second is intelligent infrastructure for utility-scale solar deployments through a combination of hardware and software.

Riverwalk also sees potential for Aeron to expand its technology stack and capture a larger share of the value embedded in the platforms it serves.

From Indian engineering to global markets

Founded in 2008, Aeron Systems has spent more than 18 years developing electronics, sensing and navigation technologies.

The company’s next phase will be defined by its ability to convert that engineering experience into scalable global growth.

Manufacturing expansion will be particularly important. Aerospace and defence customers require consistent quality, reliability and production capability. Scaling without compromising those characteristics can be a significant challenge for deep-tech companies.

The ₹45 crore funding gives Aeron additional capital to invest in those capabilities while continuing product development.
