Warehouse Automation: Körber’s High-Density System for Radha Exports

Körber has won a warehouse automation deal with Radha Exports, a Singapore retailer, to fit out its new facility on Pandan Road. The project is a high-density automated pallet storage and interfloor conveying system. It is the kind of dense, vertical warehousing that land-scarce Singapore increasingly favours.

What is being built

The system combines a five-floor interfloor pallet lifter with smart shuttle technology. It will hold nearly 9,000 pallets in roughly 61,200 cubic metres of space, moving goods between multiple facility levels.

Körber will also integrate its Warehouse Control System with Radha’s Warehouse Management System, linking storage and material flow into one coordinated operation.

Who Radha is

Radha Exports, established in 1995, is a Singapore FMCG importer, wholesaler and retailer. It runs the ABC Bargain Centre chain and Valu$, and it has a large central distribution hub in western Singapore.

The release says Radha operates “more than 200 outlets” across ABC Bargain Centre, ValuDollar and Japan Home. That last brand is worth a note: in August 2026, Japan Home licensed its remaining Singapore stores to Radha for a three-year term, after posting losses. So Japan Home is a brand Radha now operates, not one it owns outright.

Why warehouse automation is growing here

Singapore’s constraints explain the appeal. The city-state dedicates only about 7.5% of its land to logistics, and warehouse wages exceed SGD 3,000 a month. High-density storage lets operators do more in less space.

The market is expanding accordingly. Southeast Asia’s warehouse automation sector was worth about US$0.81 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach US$1.63 billion by 2031 — roughly 12% annual growth. Singapore’s automated storage and retrieval market alone is forecast to reach about US$73.8 million by 2030.

Körber is building a pipeline here. It delivered a similar high-density shuttle system for a record-storage provider in September 2026. It also built an ASRS for a steel stockist earlier in the year.

What to watch

Three things will show whether this is routine or telling. Whether Körber keeps adding Southeast Asian deployments. Whether Radha’s automation delivers measurable gains in throughput or space use. And whether the regional market’s double-digit growth holds as land and labour costs keep rising.
